We believe that Judaism cannot survive unless we are concerned about the world community.
Perspectives

Study  We study on Sunday mornings during the school year at the Glencoe Community Center.  Adults, teachers, and children join in a brief service after which Religious School classes convene for the children.  Parents gather to study more advanced themes.  At noon, we all meet again to schmooze over bagels and cream cheese.

Important to our philosophy is the conviction that one Sunday each month should be reserved for family activities.

Hebrew school meets on Sundays and Tuesdays.  One of our Rabbis teaches the 11th grade confirmation class weekly.

Our adult education programs include bible study, a book club, a film study group, a Lunch and Learn series (which meets in downtown Chicago), Introduction to Judaism class,
trope , and basic Hebrew.

Working for a Just Society   We believe that Judaism cannot survive unless we are concerned about the world community--Jewish and non-Jewish.  That is why we protest with the oppressed, help feed the hungry, and bear witness to the atrocities inflicted on suffering humanity.   Hakafa works to assist battered and abused  women and their children, provide High Holiday services to residents in nursing homes, and create links with Jewish communities in Russia.
