Family Promise Network

The North Shore United Methodist Church (NSUMC) in Glencoe and Hakafa members will be hosting Family Promise at NSUMC from April 15-22, 2018. We will have opportunities available to donate food, prepare meals, enjoy dinner with the guests, and stay overnight at the church. This is a great opportunity for Hakafa members, of all ages, to volunteer in our own community!

Please contact Peggy Salamon (312-286-4055 or peggysalamon@me.com) for more details.

COMING SOON: Sign up to volunteer!

Family Promise is an interfaith network of congregations that helps local families in homeless situations return quickly to permanent housing. As part of Family Promise, our congregation partners with the North Shore United Methodist Church (NSUMC) in Glencoe where families stay for one week, remaining there between 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. During that week, congregational volunteers from both Hakafa and the NSUMC provice and participate in meals with the families and take turns spending the night.

If you are interested in becoming involved with Family Promise and/or learning more about it, contact Hakafa member, Peggy Salamon.
