If you will be participating via Zoom, on you table you will need: 

*Three different types of fruits as follows: 

1.    At least one with a peel or shell that cannot be eaten (i.e. orange or any other citrus fruit, banana, pomegranate, almonds)
2.    At least one that has a pit that cannot be eaten (i.e. prune, apricot, olive, cherry)
3.    At least one that is completely edible containing no pit or seed (i.e. grapes, apple, pear, or any berries) 

*Beverages as follows: 

•    Two empty glasses
•    A bottle of light grape juice or white wine
•    A bottle of dark grape juice or red wine

The Jewish New Year of the trees, Tu B’Shevat (pronounced Too BishVAHT), falls on Monday, February 6 this year. According to the Talmud, the 15th of the Hebrew month of Shevat is designated as the end of the period in which most of Israel’s yearly rain has fallen. This marks the time when trees have used up water from the previous year’s rainfall and have begun absorbing the water of the New Year. On Tu B’Shevat we honor the cycle of the trees, we sanctify the power of nature through our Tu B’Shevat Seder.
