Tayalim Canoeing Outing for Families
Sunday, October 2, 2022 • 7 Tishrei 5783
1:00 PM - 3:00 PMChicago River Canoe and Kayak at the Skokie Lagoons (1770 Tower Rd, Winnetka)Join us for a Hakafa Tayalim* outing to go canoeing, get to know your fellow Tayalim (trekkers), and find out why it's Jewish to throw bread into water. The program is aimed toward children in elementary school, but children ages 3+ are welcome, as long as they can safely wear a life jacket and sit in a canoe. Parents are expected to attend and canoe with their children. Contact Rae Goodman-Lucker with questions.
Please R.S.V.P. at this link by September 4. Please note: There are a limited number of canoes.
COVID Safety:
Masks are required for all attendees age 2 and over, regardless of vaccination status.
Everyone age 5 and older must be fully up-to-date on their COVID-19 vaccination to attend (1 dose of J&J or 2 doses of Pfizer/Moderna and 1 booster).
*Tayalim, Hebrew for trekkers, is Hakafa’s new, outdoor, experiential program for member and non-member families with children primarily in grades K-5. It is designed to introduce families to the relationship between Judaism, Torah, and nature in unique and fun ways.
