The Saturday evening prior to Rosh Hashanah is the time to officially welcome the High Holiday season.  We do so through communal study and the recitation of penitential prayers (known as selichot).

This year, Selichot falls on Saturday, September 9, 2023.

Please join us at 7:00 p.m.
either in-person at Curt’s Café
(1766 Second St, Highland Park)
OR via Zoom (see link below).

After schmoozing/snacking and Havdallah, we will do a reading of Merle Feld’s “The Gates are Closing,” a play written for the High Holiday season. Following the reading and a discussion, we will proceed with our discussion, we will hold a brief Selichot service during which we will hear the shofar blast for the first time this year.
