Purim is a one-day celebration observed on the 14th day of the Hebrew month of Adar (one month before Passover). It commemorates the saving of the Jewish communities living under Persian rule from Haman's evil designs to exterminate them. Although there is some uncertainty about the date, the events described in the Book of Esther (Megillat Esther) took place about 450 B.C.E.
At Hakafa, we joyously celebrate Purim with our annual Megilla Reading and Purim Carnival (most years),
