Our annual  MEGILLA READING will be very entertaining.

Join us to boo Haman as we read from the Megilla (Scroll of Esther or Megillat Esther in Hebrew)! For those not able to join us in-person, the Megilla Reading will be available via Zoom at this link. (Meeting ID: 816 6759 5482).

Each year at Purim, we are treated to original Purim parody tunes around a special theme that are interspersed throughout our Megilla Reading.

We’ve heard it from the Grammys, through the grapevine, leaving on a jet plane, in a yellow submarine, amidst the sounds of silence, wishing upon a star, with all our heart and soul, under a disco ball, on the television, through the painful 80's, on a jolly holiday, and more. What will be our holiday theme this year? Find out at Hakafa’s annual Purim Megilla Reading!

Of course, there will be HAMENTASHEN for everyone to nosh!

Come in COSTUME and win a prize!

Purim is a one-day celebration observed on the 14th day of the Hebrew month of Adar (one month before Passover).  It commemorates the saving of the Jewish communities living under Persian rule from Haman's evil designs to exterminate them.  Although there is some uncertainty about the date, the events described in the Book of Esther (Megillat Esther) took place about 450 B.C.E.

At Hakafa, we joyously celebrate Purim with our annual Megilla Reading and Purim Carnival (most years),
