Hakafa Kiva Team

Leveraging the internet and a worldwide network of microfinance institutions, each day, Kiva connects thousands of people to borrowers and partner institutions around the world, working together to create opportunity and alleviate poverty.

Kiva lets individuals lend as little as $25; and,
once a loan is repaid, the funds are loaned again and again.

JOIN THE HAKAFA KIVA LENDING TEAM.
"We loan because our encirclement includes our collective responsibility
to empower others around the world."

Hakafa's Kiva relationship was first started with gifts from the confirmation classes of 2007 and 2008. In 2013, the HAKAFA KIVA LENDING TEAM was created and has since grown to 38 members, including each of our Religious School 3rd through 9th grade classes. In addition, several congregants have created Kiva accounts and make loans as part of our team.

Collectively, we have made 727 small loans totaling $26,525 to people in 65 countries including El Salvador, Colombia, Haiti, Sierra Leone, Uganda, and Peru. Our loans support families in their efforts to break cycles of poverty and include education, housing, medical needs, agriculture, and retail sectors.
