Yom HaAtzma'ut
Yom HaAtzma'ut
This year, Yom HaAtzma'ut falls on Thursday, May 9, 2019.
Yom HaAtma'ut, Israel's Independence Day, celebrates the modern State of Israel's declaration of independence in 1948. It is celebrated on 5th day of the Hebrew month of Iyar.
At Hakafa, we hold an annual Yom HaAtzma'ut celebration on the Friday night closest to Yom HaAtzma'ut during our Shabbat Service. This is always a special event during which all Hakafa members come together to welcome Shabbat and celebrate Israel. The service and celebration is always followed by and wonderful oneg.
