Sunday Morning Adult Ed
Sunday, November 9, 2025 • 18 Cheshvan 5786
10:30 AM - 12:00 PMAll Hakafa adults are invited to participate in our Sunday Morning Adult Education classes led by both congregational and community scholars who will delve into a variety of topics of special interest and expertise. Class meets on Sunday mornings from 10:30 a.m.-12:00 noon both in-person and via Zoom. Come early for a cup of coffee and to schmooze, and grab a bagel at noon before leaving.
Join us this week as Bob Aronson will discuss the historic work of HIAS and its current mission.
Bob will give a brief history of HIAS and then examine how the work of HIAS is being affected by the immigration policies of the current administration.
Bob Aronson practiced immigration law for 36 years prior to his retirement. In parallel to his professional practice of law, he was a long-time member of the HIAS Board of Directors, culminating in his service as the agency’s Chair from 2019-2022. As Chair, he traveled extensively throughout the world to ensure that the programs and policies of HIAS were responsive to the needs of refugees and the forcibly displaced.
