Environmental Action Committee

Year-Round Composting

Hakafa's Environmental Action Committee has partnered with the Glencoe Community Garden to compost year-round. This is an entirely volunteer-run program aimed at helping the environment by keeping food waste out of landfills (and thus methane out of the atmosphere).

Please feel free to drop off your fruit and veggie scraps, egg shells, and coffee grinds on Sunday mornings at the Takiff Center (999 Green Bay Road, Glencoe) from 9:30-11:30 a.m.

Questions? Contact Barbara Miller (barbarasmiller01@yahoo.com / 847 835-8000).

We still need a few volunteers to bring the scraps to the Glencoe Community Garden on Sundays (takes less than an hour and can be done any time between 11:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.), so let us know if you are willing to help out!!!!
