Hebrew School Procedures
Hebrew School Procedures
HEBREW SCHOOL PROCEDURES
We sincerely appreciate your cooperation with and attention to all the procedures listed below.
The safety of your children is our priority.
Contacting Your Child/Us During Hebrew School
If you need to reach the staff or your child during Hebrew School, please do not call/text/email your child on his/her cell phone. You can contact Bibi on her cell phone (847-650-7720). You can also email Bibi or Rona. If you need to get a message to your child, we will make sure s/he gets it.
Drop-Off and Pick-Up
- Please drop your child off for Hebrew School no earlier than 4:00 PM. If you do arrive early, we ask that parents remain with their children until there is a Hakafa staff member available for adequate supervision.
- Both before AND after Hebrew School, you should enter the main parking lot (behind the building) at the entrance just north of the Takiff Center. Continue past the building's main entrance and around to the back of the building.
- Drop-off and pick-up of students should be at the sidewalk that leads from the parking lot to the back entrance of the building next to the playground.
- Each Tuesday, students will gather in the Multipurpose Wing hallway where they will wait, with supervision, until all students have been dropped off and they head to class.
- At 5:30 PM pick-up, please cue up in a carpool line by the sidewalk where students were dropped off, and be sure to pull your car all the way forward so the line can move more quickly. Students will NOT be allowed to walk to any parked cars unless accompanied by an adult.
Leaving Early
If your child needs to leave class early, please let us know ahead of time so that we can have your student ready to go at the pick-up location. We ask that students NOT be picked up during services (5:10-5:30 each week). If your child needs to leave early, they will need to be picked up before 5:10 PM.
Someone Else Picking Up your Child/ren?
If you have a babysitter, family member, or friend who will be picking up or dropping off your child, it is important that you share these procedures with them. It is also important that we have their cell phone number. Please email us with their name and cell phone number so that we can have this on file. If this information changes during the year, be sure to keep us updated, too.
